Flexible Key Account Management
The key word for KAMflex is flexible. Our clients don't need a whole full-time KAM, so we don't give them one. Typically, a client will start with 10%-20% of a KAM's time - roughly 2-4 days-worth per month.Of course, to manage Key Accounts effectively, it would not be possible for your client's Key Account Manager to only be available to them on only two specific days each month! When they call, they expect to get through to the KAM - straight away - so they can get their issue sorted right now. Can you imagine how they'd react if you told them they could only speak to the KAM on the first and third Wednesday of each month?!!
Fractional Key Account Management
So what you get is not a part-time KAM, it's part of a full-time KAM - what we call fractional Key Account Management.How it works is that the time clients take is 'non-contiguous' - in other words, not in one solid block. Some days the KAM might just need to make or take a few calls, other days they could be involved in all-day sales meetings or maybe preparing a big proposal. On average, the total time they spend working on your Key Accounts throughout the month is the percentage (and the fee) you've agreed to - no surprises.
The KAMflex fee structure recognises the long-term nature of Key Account Management, being composed partly of a nominal retainer and partly a results-based bonus - that way, you know your KAM will have an eye on your future success, just like a full-timer.
